Why do I keep getting the system alerts about trojans, viruses, and internet spyware programs?

System performance monitor warning%26gt;System performance slowed down by 47%%26gt; Internet speed connection decreased by 39%%26gt; System Alert: spyware/trojan Trojan-Spy.win32#mx. I am really getting annoyed with these viruses

There's a very good chance this "alert" is phony and is being produced by adware already on your machine trying to scare you into buying protection from them.

Download AdAware and Spybot, run their updates to get the latest definitions, and run them about once a week.

Download this free antivirus software, update the definitions, and run a deep complete scan on your system:

Also get Windows Defender from Microsoft, which is a spyware/adware scanner. Run that too. Do this, and it will probably rid your system of the crap that is messing with it.
Hello Dawn. First thing you should do is go to www.microsoft.com and get their Malicious Tool Remover. Then download Spyware Terminator and AVG's lastest antivirus. After you've downloaded them all, run the tool and should it find something it'll alert you! After the tool has cleaned things up potentially, put the other two apps on your desktop and get the updates... and run a scan with both. These will knock out the bad stuff on your system and tell you what's there. I keep thinking also maybe you've got Window's Messenger on, and if so you need to disable it. Google it to see how to fix it and don't let it on your system. This should get you in good shape.
Suggest you check the Security, Privacy and Content tabs in Tools, Internet Options.
