Well unless you install something from a disk with a virus you can not get a virus if you don't connect to the internet ever.

But you're saying you want to wirelessly access the internet using the Belkin USB Network Adapter. If you use that you will obviously be connecting to the internet, in which case you are potentially susceptible to a virus.

There are some steps you can take to protect your computer:

1. Don't use Internet Explorer 6. Download Firefox (www.getfirefox.com) or Internet Explorer 7 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/product...

2. Don't download free software such as screensavers or similar programs. Never click inside the box of a pop-up.

3. Buy or download a security suite and scan your computer regularly and update the program regularly. Some good programs to buy are Norton or Kaspersky. For free programs you can try AVG or Ad-Adware.

as long as you are connected to the internet there are chances to get a virus keeping up the fire wall and going to secure sites are you safest bets also using anti virus software
Anything you install on your computer from an outside source may potentially contain viruses. If you are not connected to the internet, that would greatly reduce the chances of getting a virus. Whenever you download something or install new software, it's important to immediately scan for viruses. I'd recommend to anyone to never have a computer unless you plan to have a virus cleaner. Unless, of course, you are never going to install anything on it and you are never connecting it to the internet--like a word processing computer.
Just wear a condom and you should be ok.
