Scan files in msn/live messenger for viruses (avira antivir)?

I currently have avira antivir free installed on the pc, how do i use this program to scan incoming files sent from friends over MSN/Windows live messenger?

I know that you can go to the Tools-%26gt;options-%26gt;file transfer-%26gt;scan files for viruses using... but then i don't know what command line to use.

you need to tell it where you installed your antivirus software eg C:\Program Files\Avira

Then you need to choose the right exe file to use, some virus scanners have more then 1, if you have more then 1 exe file you need to place your mouse over each one in turn, hold it there for a few seconds until the discription of the file comes up. you are looking for an exe with a discription similar to "Command-Line Scanner"
