hello i use Spy Sweeper and avast! Antivirus it works fine but ever u don't click the link Take a look at my vacation pics so funny it = trouble it take's over msn and sends spam to all your friends and the only way to stop it is to change your password for msn
i have that ! and then people accept it but it doesnt open and then the have it too and yell at you for it !

no not really .. sooner or later u will pick somthing up .. its mostly a matter of knowing what to lookout for and experience comes from getting many viruses and going through multiple reformats .. and the really neat thing about places like limewire is its where all the script kiddies hang out to try their latest viral creations ... so u may wind up getting viruses that even antivirus wont catch ..

i have had lime wire for years i downloaded the 14.4 one a while ago free download i have avg antivirus that was a free download i havnt had any virus or pop ups at all

Download Frostwire. It's made by the same people and with a lot less to no viruses. I have had it for a few months now and not a single virus.
As Limewire is a peer to peer sharing program and you're downloading things from another person's computer then you can never be sure if the files will be clean or not.

Actually you may not even have any of those things. Spyware Doctor lies a lot in an attempt to get you to buy their product,which is not very good by the way.

I stay connected 24/7 do large amounts of downloading and haven't had a single problem with viruses. All because I have good protection.

Heck I can even download a known virus and it still would not be able to infect my pc.

Every site has free trials why didn't you look before posting this.
Keep in mind that when it comes to freebies, you always get what you pay for. Now, go to Norton/Symantec site and look in there for their free anti-virus scan; when you find it, let the program scan your machine; keep in mind though that it will take sometime, so let the program go through and at the end it will tell you what and how. If this won't work, the best and the least expensive way to do get rid of any and all bugs is to format your hard drive and start from scratch.

There are viruses and "exploits" for OSX, if you can call them that. The reason these don't work well on OSX is because of the permissions OSX and its UNIX core grant to programs running under user accounts. When you login to OSX you are not logged into an admin or as "root" as it is known in the *nix world. But you can still install applications and make changes to the system (unlike in Windows). If a virus were to get on your OSX system, it would have to request permissions to access (and does) your files and settings but when it attempts to venture into the root realm the OS comes back and says "sorry, you don't have permissions to do that" and the virus basically sits there doing nothing, perhaps being a pain but it'll sit there, twiddle its thumbs all day because OSX won't let it do anything. It would be difficult to create a devastating virus for OSX because of these permissions (unless you're daft enough to login as root on your OSX machine) and it wouldn't spread as fast because only about 5% of the entire world (maybe less) uses OSX. It's not worth a hackers time however, the exploits present in OSX are easily... ummmm, exploited and Apple has come under fire for being lackluster about security patches and updates but again, there just aren't enough Mac users to make it worth a hackers time. However now that it is possible to install Windows XP on your Mac, it has the same vulnerabilities that a regular PC would so you need to take the same security precautions there. There has also been rumors of creating a virus for Windows XP that could jump over to the OSX partition and in theory wreak havoc on it while you're logged into Windows, however, that has yet to manifest itself in any way.
