I need to speak with a hacker (a person who creates computer viruses).I need help about something.Promise to keep everyone's anonymity. If anyone (serious enough and with enough knowledge) would like at least to talk to me about the problem, please email me (with yahoo.answers).
We are not all stupid, anyway what your asking is not legal so you shouldnt ask.
i need links and some tips on how to create a nice powerpoint presentation on computer viruses? thanksssssssss

Power Point is SO super easy to use. Go in %26 play around w/ it ... You can upload photos %26 make links even so when you do your presentation you can click on a link %26 go directly to the internet. I can't give you any specifics though ... not enough time or space. Just play w/ the program.
my friend has a computer thats full of spyware adware viruses and trojans i really wana help him delete all this do i need 2 install sum stuff 1st?? 1 of them is a trojan and i know theyre hard 2 shift any advice n e 1?????
thanks a lot in advance
Great Question and thank you for particpating in Yahoo's Q %26 A. You're experiencing one of the most common issues that we have with our computer today. It's unfortunate, but unless you specialize in Viruses, Trojans, Variants, Spyware, Adware, Worms etc. you'll have a hard time getting rid of all of the problems as some are very hard to deal with. Most have remnants spread all over the computer in case you find parts of them and remove them. After restarting the computer, they just come back. If this is the situation, you have two options. Either purchase a good all around Antivirus Program such as Norton Symantec or CA (Computer Associates Internet Securtity Suite "Etrust". Next option would be to remove that copy of Windows from the computer and re-install a fresh new copy. Make sure that you first disable the "restore back" function in the control panel. Failure to do this can and will problably allow some of the viruses to start back up even after the new copy of Windows is installed. Then, upon choosing and installing a good Antivirus Program, you should have no more problems. Larry (Radio Shack 01-9590)
Im just looking for a program that scans individual .exe files, .rar files, and others for viruses, potential threats and everything. I don't really need it to do anything else. I don't mind paying for it so even if it costs money still let me know about it.

Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security

AVG Free works the best!
It can be found at http://downloads.com
Of course it is free and quarantines viruses and Trojans and then eliminates them. Also get Spyware Doctor to remove the pesky tracking cookies we pick up here an there from time to time
Don't use Norton and McAfee they slow your computer down to a crawl.
I have windows vista home basic and it comes with windows defender. Does this only protect against spyware, or does it protect against viruses too?
NO, Window Defender only protect your PC from spyware. You'll need a separate anti-virus app for protection against viruses.
It may save you from a virus or two, but it is primarily an anti-spyware. You must use a separate anti-virus as well.
It is anti-spyware only.
I downloaded a file from limewire that has given my computer all sorts of viruses and hackers, have been trying to get into my computer.anyone else had problems like that?
In limewire you can avoid this type of thing, just never download the zip folders or the wma files, Only use the mp3 type files, these are stand alone and you know whats in the folder where if you download the zip folders they will unlease terror on your system, Below are some good tools to help you deal with the viruses, And be sure to use the spyware doctor because it is the best for finding malware,,
This is very good tool and I recommend it to keep your pc in good running condition,
Windows Advanced Care , This tool will keep you computer running good and you can see the startup programs to help you understand what runs in the startup programs; It also imunizes your computer against the attcks we face each time we go on the internet Just run it once a day and your worrys are much less,
http://www.download.com/Advanced-Windows...
Here is a very good tool called Winpatrol and it monitors your computer for programs that try to run on your system without your knowlege, This tool also allows you to manage all the startup programs on your computer,, It also warns you if a program tries to run without your permission, I use this software and I recommend it,
i have the windows 98 disc but not windows xp
but windows xp is really messed up on ma comp with viruses, etc...
should i go back to windows 98?
No. You can get your key from the OS using software tools and then download XP (assuming you paid for it the first time and you have a legit key you are only downloading a backup) and re-install it rather than going back to 98 ... that's a 9 year old OS ... no one should be running it anymore ...
Google "XP key retriever" or something to that effect to find the tools ... I'd look it up for you but I'm answering while I'm supposed to be doing other things, so I'm in a hurry ... :-)
no don't do that if you cant clean it just put it in the store service. and stop watching that pages
I had the same problem and the Tech.that diagnosed the problem advised me to call the 1-800 number on the back of the harddrive and I did this and they sent me the disk for around $30. After that I invested in some virus protection.
Yes,
How is it messed up?
If you think it is faster and safer sure you can ...
I used to have Windows 98 and I found it easier until it stopped working but i think you should!

so, are there any free virus remover downloads that will make limewire doesnt give me any viruses?
Check out the symantec or McAfee websites and see if they have any free trials for their software. Most downloadable virus protection programs only offer a free trial and usually don't give you total protection against viruses. The longest free trial I know of lasts about 30 days. Your best bet is to purchase an antivrus program and or purchase an external hard drive to store all your music files on, because it will cost you much more to restore all of your data due to a virus.
don't share and don't download questionable programs, now that limewire got sued it should tell you about a possible virus on a file
use ares for p2p file sharing
look at the size of the file you want to download u should pick the bigger ones, alot times the small ones have the viruses and scan the stuff after you down load them.
Norton
i use avg antivirus and i think its great but i have been using limewire for a long time and ive never gotten a virus i guess you'll have to learn to tell which files can have viruses before u download, a way i do this is by narrowing my search and also look at the bitrate, if it says 128kbps or more, it sholud be fine, do not download the ones that dont have a bitrate. you mays also wanna look at what format the file is
I got infected with some trojans but lucky enough my anitvirus took care of it...but not completly. I also ran my antispy to remove some infected files. However now, I am getting pop-ups like crazy and its really annoying since the window goes inactive and I have to click it back to it being active....its weird since I have a pop up blocker.... I would thank you very much if you give me a way that I can take care of these quarantines viruses and a way to stop the pop ups...
Sorry dude, but your anti-virus did NOT take care of the problem! You would not have the excessive pop-up problem if your anti-virus and anti-spyware apps were doing the job.
Popup blockers, such as the Yahoo and Google toolbars, will only stop web based popup advertising. They can help somewhat but will do nothing to stop popups on a computer that is badly infected with trojan downloaders that are "phoning home" and contacting other computers to download and deliver the pop up ads.
Try a full cleaning and dis-infection routine, if you are getting excessive popups, or are getting popups even when you are offline.
This is the one I use (it will take some time). These are on-line scans, you do not need to uninstall any of your current protections.
1. Scan for virus and remove (free online scan) with BitDefender
about 20 viruses in my vault, what to do with it?
Not to worry..they are secure. Avg disabled them..they are held in the vault in case you find a certian file missing that was mistaken as a virus.
I hope this helped
Delete them from the vault.
????????????????????????????????????????...
You don't need to do anything, AVG moves the virus and/or affected file/s into the vault for quarantine. If you like you can empty the vault.
My friend has lime wire and she uses it all the time. Does it also give viruses to your computer?
Limewire itself is not illegal. But it can and usually is used for illegal purposes. Limewire itself will not give you a virus. What you download with it can though.
Basically, if you use limewire to download music you are safe from viruses. You are not safe from the recording industry sueing you and winning a $250,000 judgement against you (this happened to a single mom in Minnesota about three months ago.)
If you use limewire to download programs instead of music. I can tell you just about everything on there is infected. Downloading programs from limewire is the quickest way I know to get a virus, and most of them are obvious. For instance, do a search for microsoft office with limewire and the vast majority of the results will be a 2 meg zip file containing an exe file. click on it and you're bit. (there is no way a program that comes on 2 cd's can be in a 2 meg file.)
My advice if you want to use limewire for music, that's up to you, but turn your file sharing off, and completely shut the program down after you get what you want. (x ing it out doesn't shut it down, it just minimizes it to the tray by the clock.)
My computer got these viruses and my anti virus isn't helping, i'm on windows xp and help would be appreciated.
You can remove most of this viruses manually by doing the following:
First download and install MS-Process explorer
and MS-PendMoves
Check the registry for "suspicious items"
********BE CAREFUL WITH REGISTRY BECAUSE IF YOU DELETE/ MOVE OR CHAGNE SOME THING YOU CAN MESS UP YOUR COMPUTER REALY BED AND END UP HAVING TO RELOAD.. SINCE REGISTRY OUTOSAVES IN THE SPOT..*******
Go to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\...
And check if there is any suspicious items..
(Most of the time this is empty.)
Do the same to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\...
*****Please note that you can access the same key from SPYBOSEARCH AND DESTROY in the STARTUP SCREEN.*****
======================================...
Once done lets move to the fun stuff:
First press CTRL+ALT+DEL go to TASK MANAGER
Once there go to PROCESS
Click on the process (pretty much every thing BUT explore.exe; SYSTEM; SYSTEM IDLE PROCESS and SVCHOST)
Right click and end process tree
once you finish most of them right click and END PROCESS TREE explore.exe
and will it slow my ipod down? :[. that would suck so bad. cuz i have soo omany viruses, i'm lucky if my computer even turns on!!!
They can blow out your iPod but I don't think they will harm it in other ways. You should definitely try to get your computer fixed, its hardware could get damaged.
i hope not cuz i have a virus or two and love my iPod.
I heard you can scan cd discs for viruses, like if you're wanting to install a music or game disc you can check it first to make sure it's clean. I use Zone Alarm System Suite but can't find anything on there.
Well, as I know, Viruses didn't get into CD.
right click on the drive you have the disc to be scanned in then press scan for viruses.
go to my computer, right click on drive e, and scan for viruses..
Right click the drive that contains the CD and scan with your antivirus program. Then left click the scan option. If there is any virus detected, see which music or game files are infected. Don't open or save those infected files. You can still open or save the uninfected files. You cannot delete or remove virus from CDs like from pen drives or flash drives. Hope this is clear to you..... If your ZA System Suite did not detect any virus then the CD should be okay.
Does the software protect against viruses that are downloaded say, accidentally through yahoo mail or another account?
It does not have a dedicted e-mail scanner, no. But free Avria does scan everything that gets written (downloaded) to your hard drive so in fact you are protected against e-mail malware.
Regardless of whether it does or doesn't, it's a good idea to have a zero-day security program running too, e.g. Threatfire, which will trap malware between AV updates...
no, it does not come with an email scanner
but i checked the system yesterday and no viruses wear found and i found spyware but it got rid of them i have
free avg anti spyware and spybot anti spyware whats going on?
Phony pop-up alert boxes, background changes or "balloon" pop-ups from the tray (by the clock) about a trojan, virus or spyware infection and the attempt to sell you some useless software to "fix" the problem usually indicates that your computer has a Smitfraud infection. DO NOT BUY THE PRODUCT THEY TRY TO SELL YOU! IT IS SCAM.
Sounds like your computer may have a variant of this ubiquitous Smitfraud infection.
Almost all "general purpose","all-in one" spyware and virus removal programs such as AVG, Norton, McAfee or Spybot S %26 D cannot remove it, as you have already found out.
Free specialised Smitfraud removal tool is here (SmitfraudFix)
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix...
After running SmitfraudFix, to clean-up any remaining infection traces, scan for trojans,
and spyware and remove (free online scan, no downloaded program) with Ewido Online Scanner ( now known as AVG Anti-Spyware). This is NOT the same as AVG Anti-Virus. Press "Scan your computer now online and clean it for free!" on the left.

I've heard that because Macs aren't as widely used as IBM PCs, they are less likely to be infected with viruses because seldom do people write viruses for them. I have a Mac and this would be great news for me. I was wondering if this has changed because Apple has created so many hardware breakthroughs, not to mention the hard drive in that new Macbook Air. Since Macs are becoming more widely used, am I at just as much risk as an IBM user? A higher risk than I realize?
Aw, do I have to stop opening infectious e-mails? Just kidding, lol.
Hi, it all depends on the operating system on your computer. The intel Mac is just another regular computer with only one difference that it has a chip inside that identifies it as a Mac.
Mac OS X is a Unix based operating system just like Linux, and Unix has been known for good security and stability so u r safe. If u were to install Windows on your Mac then u would be again at risk.
You should always run a firewall and yes the number of attackers for Macs r increasing everyday. Trust me some of my friends continuously try to break in to OS X machines because of a hatred they have developed for Apple over the pc vs mac ads.
Good Luck and take care!
Are we constantly breathing in germs, bacteria and viruses in our air? And if so, where in the body do they go and what happens to them?
Sure, our bodies fight off most of them. The ones that are not destroyed by our bodies usually cause respiratory infections.
There are several ways our body tries to stop bacteria and viruses from getting into the body. First the little hairs in our nose are supposed filter the air we breath in. Next is the snot/phlegm. It is a sticky substance that catches much of the bad stuff. Then we sneeze it out or cough it out. Next is our bodies auto immune system and white blood cells. They fight off infection and foreign substances when they get into our body. Last is the body's filtration system. This is the lympth system and kidneys. They will trap viruses and bacteria as they move through our bodies. We usually get rid of this waist through our urination.
I hope this helps.
Absolutely. There are germs everywhere. We breathe them in, they enter our skin through our mouthes, noses, whatever. The thing is, our body is the best at keeping them out.

my laptop is an acer 5563.i'm using windows xp.it crashed when i'm watching youtube, playing red alert2,and using add-aware to check for spyware.sometimes when im not even using it. i tried another software to search if there is any spyware in my computer.nothing was found.no viruses.it just weird.this laptop is 7 month old.
Well does it freeze up? Or does it go to "the blue screen of death"? Also how much RAM does it have, because low RAM could be part of the problem.
And too many programs or music files would have nothing to do with it. The way your computer performs is not affected by how much hard drive space you have, unless you are REALLY low.
Maybe there issomething in the computer it cannot support
Ehh Not really.
Even when you're not using the computer, its doing stuff.
Check the EVENT LOG under administrative tools under control panel.
It'll have an entry with a red X for all such crashes. That should help you find the source of the problem.
Please suggest me how my SE k750i mobile will get protection from viruses? if the software is available how can it be installed in mobile?
The Sony Ericsson k750i is not a Symbian phone. There are no viruses for it. So, you don't need protection from viruses on it.
http://www.mobdesk.tk
...even i dont have money to buy softwares for that viruses..
3 things you can do:
First install anti-virus software - free from AVG (Grisoft)
Then install adware removing software - such as adaware (also free)
And then after removing the infections install a firewall program - such as Zone Alarm (Zonelabs) which is also free
Keep running them and all will be OK.
Unfortunately you may need to wipe and reinstall your system if the infections are too deeply embedded.
Oh and stop visiting sites at random.
That's alright. You can download some free anti-virus programs:
AVG: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl...
Spybot S%26D: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl...
1 backup your ALL OF YOUR F陌LES(not system files)TO A portable hard drive(you can borrow from a friend) or CDs
2 use the recovery CD to format all of your drives and give your computer a fresh start (what I mean is reinstall windows)
3 get anti-virus and anti-spyware(ad aware free version is good from download.com) install them to your fresh computer I don't recommend free anti-virus software
i got this popup thing from windows that says i had 98 viruses but my computer is working fine, except internet explorer keeps closing all of a sudden but not on one particular site. then i got a message that there was a trojan on my computer (this msg was from mcafee-a security thing). what's a trojan? and how do i know if i really do have viruses and stuff on my cpu???
Try downloading the trial of spysweeper. it is the best for spyware, adware, trojans, but will only sweep for viruses if you pay for it. Try AVG free for the virus. IE always gets viruses. i would use either Mozilla Firefox, or Safari for windows. these explorers have better ad blockers.
For all computer related problems please check out

It not only gives complete solutions but also offers
free downloads of effective softwares which can detect
and eliminate all spy ware /virus /ad ware /Trojans completely.
If you have McAfee, you need to run a full system scan and remove any viruses it finds. If you just had the free trial version of McAfee and not a paid subscription, uninstall it and install Avast anti-virus. Go to http://www.avast.com and download the free home version. It is free, regularly updated, and works very well. Install that and run a full scan of your system.
Then, install Spybot-S%26D ( http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirro... ), or Ad-Aware ( http://www.lavasoftusa.com ), and run full scans of your system. If anything is there, they should find it.
These programs are all free, and do the job very well.
Ater downloading anti-viruses %26 running scan, now I can't get any download updates that come into my Outlook Express. Can someone tell me why this is and how to remedy this problem? I need to get to the download updates as well as other information that comes into my emails. I need real answers not guessings either. Please help me out.
it depends on the anti virus u r using, but for all of them u should go to options or preferences, and change ur settings so the anti viruse could let u check ur internet sites, and make online accesses.
check up ur settings.
It looks more like you have an internet security program, maybe bundled with the anti-virus software. If you have Norton, then see the above post. If you have any other anti virus program, then click on that particular software and change the settings to allow download emails and updates. FYI, you don't really need "anti-virus" software as long as you don't open unknownn emails, scam spams, unknow attachments and download any software that you either don't know or trust. Anti-virus software only slows down your computer and does unexpected things such interfering with other applications.
please specify which anti virus program ur using ..if its norton...then open the norton application and under an option called internet or system tools u will have email ..click on email and the email settings page is opened towards ur right ...uncheck incoming and outgoin email scanning ....close the norton application ...amd then reboot the comp...and then chk if the outlook express is able to send and recve mails ..send test mails to urself ..this should work for u ...incase ur using anyother anti virus system ...try doin these steps ...it will work.
It is probably protecting you by not letting any downloads come through. There normally is a setting to change that.
I will be purchasing a lap top some time soon, and I heard that Macs don't viruses. I thought that would be a good plus. Thanks for your response.
It's largely true, mainly due to the Mac having such a small market share that few viruses are written specifically to attack it. If you use word or excel on mac, though, many viruses that attack those applications are cross platform, so I'd advise you to run an antivirus program, or a security suite written for Mac. The best one I've tried is from Intego.
http://www.intego.com/isb/
not true
They can get some viruses but most viruses aren't made compatable with macs they rarely get viruses they're basically industructable my shool uses macs for that reason
there are less viruses for mac but mac can get them too
Yes, that is true to a large degree, although mainly for technical reasons. There actually are only a handful of viruses in the wild that could infect a Mac. Mac OSX's underlying technology is UNIX, (very akin to the design of Linux) which is designed from the ground up as a secure multi-user operating system. Viruses have a very hard time surviving in a UNIX or Linux environment, due to very specific separations of user and administrator permissions. The above mentioned statement from someone that there are few viruses on the Mac because it isn't as common as Windows is only partially right. The other reasons are in the underlying design. If you are curious about Mac's seemly virus resistance, check out this page:
We used to heard to many times before that bacteria is the early form of life in this planet but virus is even less complex when compared with bacteria. There's even a theory that viruses hitch a ride on a meteor and when it hits earth,it evolves and thrives into variations of living organism. So,any ideas boys and gals?...
The first living cells were (big word coming up) heterotrophic anaerobes. This meant that they were other feeders (fed on naturally occuring amino acids) without oxygen. It wasn't until later that photosynthetic (organisms able to use energy from the Sun) developed.
http://www.windows.ucar.edu/tour/link=/k...
There is still debate within the scintific community if viruses are actually living. The need a living host in order to function and reproduce.
http://www.beyondbooks.com/lif72/2c.asp
The bacterium must have developed before viruses, viruses depend totally upon a host for their continuation. It is thought that viruses emerged as mobile pieces of DNA (or RNA) derived from their host. There are many "inactive" viruses stably integrated into the genome of humans
Is thier cuz they all feel weak or fake i need something to look for viruses or trojans on my computer and be able to delete them!and iff possible any free ones?
I find AVG free is great. Have tried others, didnt like them. Spybot is also free and will remove spyware. Good luck.
I honestly think that a combination of Spyware removal software, with some Antivirus does the trick! :) On regards to Virus removal, I have found that Norton works better than McAffee. If you have AOL do NOT even bother using their "security" software.. it stinks!
does that give your computer any viruses?
I have downloaded family fued on mini clips and it did not have any viruses. In fact I played it for six months and I never had any problems with it. Have fun playing!!! :]
Udate your antivirus and scan your coputer in safe mode. After you remove virus, I recommend you use firefox browser. It is safer than IE. It can prevent viruses such as worm, trojan and etc. The newest official edition of firefox can be downloaded from http://www.mollzia.com
Yahoo has a whole security page on not to click on any ads on any website because of the chance of viruses but have they ever looked or scaned the ads on their own homepage for them ?
well we allready answered this question for you. dont you believe our answers? they are SAFE.
When a person having common cold comes in contact with a healthy person, the healthy one gets infected (even because of hand shake, kiss or other physical contacts, not sex, and sharing other things) but when a HIV positive person comes in contact (not sex) with a healthy person then can he be infected if he contacts with the positive person in a way similar to the above condition of common cold. Please specify with reasons (yes or not, and why?).
What are the differences between the conditions of HIV and common cold viruses in the body?
Thanks.
Myth: You can get HIV from breathing the air around an HIV-infected person or from hugging or holding hands with an HIV-infected person.
Reality: HIV cannot be transmitted through:
Toilet seats or doorknob handles.
Touching, hugging, holding hands, or cheek kissing with an HIV-infected person.
Sharing eating utensils with an HIV-infected person.
Mosquito bites.
HIV is transmitted through contact with an HIV-positive person's infected body fluids, such as semen, pre-ejaculate fluid, vaginal fluids, blood, or breast milk. HIV can also be transmitted through needles contaminated with HIV-infected blood, including needles used for injecting drugs, tattooing or body piercing.
Now that they found a dead turkey with the bird flu strain in Britian. I cant help but keep asking myself, why do all viruses get their start in Asia. Please do not give me any politically correct answers. I want the TRUTH!
One theory suggests that emerging human viruses are the result of increasingly dense human populations eliminating natural areas of diversity (normal ecosystems). When this happens all of the viruses are under strong selection to invade this new high density host, human beings. Asia meets this criteria in that the humans are extremely densely populated, Africa is an area where we are cutting out huge swaths of the original ecosystems.
This would also explain why most human diseases find their origin in Europe, the first place humans lived in high density populations.
No AIDS comes from Africa
MAd Cow from the UK
They are not all found in Asia. Many originate in Africa like Ebola. You dont hear a lot about that because they dont want you to know what they are doing over there to the villiages that get it (burn the whole villiage type of thing). Many disease come from third world countries because lets face it- they are drinking water that their sewage runs into, and its a really dirty place. Other serious diseases come from places like the Amazon and again Africa- where there are many, many misquitos- which transmit diseases like malaria and yellow fever. Asia's not the only place. Look at the Center for disease control's website. Its very informative.
Are you kidding me? LOL. Who in their right mind would assume that ALL deadly viruses came from one continent? I would hope that these answers would help you think with an open mind. Well..what about AIDS? Did it originate from Asia as well? NO, IT DID NOT. Do some more research before you make any other ridiculous assumptions.
So you never heard of the bubonic plague ?
You sound like one of the flat earth people . . .
And that is the truth !
ANY PROGRAM?

Here is a site http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Remov... that has step by step instructions on what to do. It includes spyware removal, trojan removal, computer cleanup, etc. It doesn't just cover one type of malware problem and if your problems persist it tells you how to post your problem to a forum and an expert will take a look for you.
Best bet would be to do a complete re-install of your operating system. And install a good virus protection setup after that..
------
If not, do the online scan.. clear the virus(es) , run a spyware utilty and try and clear out all of your temporary files, cookies, objects, etc...
try - ashampoo winoptimizer... its free and cleans a computer brilliantly... hope this helps
Get Avast Home Edition like the first guy said from http://www.avast.com Then download SuperAntispyware Free Edition from http://www.superantispyware.com.
i did not download the program for fear it could infect my file. should i have downloaded it? what do i do now with the viruses it detected?when i ran my avast 4, no viruses were detected.what do i do now?
1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c... do that now .Update it (Latest updates 28-3-2007) and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode
If you do not have firefox get it now and use it instead of internet explorer so you dont get any more spyware http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.c...
NO, NO, NO, no this is a spy scam. You have a trojan which makes you think you need to download their software. Just run Spybot S%26D or windows defender or whatever security software you have installed but on no account download anything from the interweb which you do not know and above all - Do not panic!
First of all, don't worry, it's not a virus. Your Avast anti-virus hasn't found it because of this.
It's malware, designed to con you into buying their software. If you don't already have them download (free) Ad-Aware SE Personal and/or Spybot S%26D. Uodate them %26 run them, one or other will bowl it out.
Agree with Renoir on this. Its a con to panic you into buying their software. If Avast says no viruses you are OK.Have had these pop ups myself that offer to scan your P.C.Then it tells you it has found 100s of viruses etc but it will cost you megga money for them to remove them.Load of crap, just a moneymaker.Rest easy, carry on surfing.
you need AVG Internet Security it is the best, have it since 4 years
Don't fall into that BS. It's just a pop-up that wants you to download a file that probably IS infected. Just avoid these.
I want images of the actual viruses. I have a nephew who is obsessed with them and would like to provide him with further images of them.
SEM (scanning electron micrography) is one of the only ways to get good images of viruses, as they're so small. For your nephew, it's probably easiest to look around online with an image search.
with an electronic microscope, and a camera(high detail, digital)
For the past some time, I am receiving returned mails from Mail Delivery System" %26lt;Mailer-Daemon@linux11821.dn%26gt;, stating that the mail I sent to the concerned address has not been delivered. Now the interesting thing is I have never ever sent any mail to that particular address and containing that particular matter. The mailer daemon shows IP Address of the sender but every time it was changed. I am worried about the security issues and not able to track this down. I know these mails must be containing viruses or any other harmful tool but this act is adversly affecting my status and I just want to get rid of it. Please help.
I get these all the time... what has ha;ppened is that you have your email online in a message, on a chat room, in a website... the choices are endless, and a "namebot" harvested it... now it's being used to "spoof" messages.
Yes, you CAN track this down, but only if you've the resources of the NSA or sonething equally large. You'd need programmers, a VERY fast and large computer and- lets' face it- that ain't you.
Report this to Yahoo an change your email. Let your friends know your new email (do NOT use an automatic mail-change notification program) and then be very careful about where you leave traces of yourself. My actual email is shown only as a .GIF image on webpages and the 'bots can't pick those up (yet)!
Is anyone else sick of viruses and spyware where we are begining to seriously wish harm on any person who unleashes such computer threats? It's a billion dollar a year problem, if not more costly! I am not a truly hateful person, but where do we draw the line against someone who has nothing better to do than to infect our computers with CRAP?!?!? Yes, it is partly our fault for not investing in some good firewall software, but we wouldn't need that stuff if those poor, doomed souls would stop with their viruses, trojans, worms, spyware, etc.
Am i right or am i right?!?!?
i just hope it is deep enuff !! LOL
Personally I think if we could have some public executions for those convicted of committing these crimes we would soon have fewer of them.
And NO I don't care what age they are! If their old enough to use a computer and be a "script kittie" and re-write some of those viruses for their own use then I will be the first one to throw a stone at their public stoning. AND their so called "parents" should also be punished!
Many have been caught and sent to jail but most get a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again. LMFAO like that works.
My PC has been infected with FalconSpy, and Malwipe, and I can't seem to get rid of them with my PeoplePc Security Pack. Is there a free software program that I can download that can actually delete these viruses from my computer and not just scan the problem ? The best answers gets 10 pts.
Go to Grisoft and download the free antivirs program there . it is called avg and it works real good . been using it for over three yrs NOW and haven't any trouble with viruses www.Grisoft.com
Avast has a scanner and virus cleaner. You have to have the free home edition anti-virus software though. I really like this one. I had a win32.sasser on mine and it washed it right out and restored some files. My PC is running smoother now. It also has a kick a$$ database update. The only thing that it doesn't seem to be compatible with is the Adaware software. But that is because it is a data miner. AND on the plus side of things, both the anti-virus and the cleaner are totally free. Yeah, I have the Adaware SE on my computer too. But you can set it up to accept the program as safe file.
check some of the antivirus websites like mcafee.com, symantec.com, or avast.com. They sometimes will have downloadable removal tools that work for specific viruses, or manual removal instructions.
Install Smantec Norton Antivirus and Firwall, run live update and then run a full system scan, it will remove viruses and spywares from you computer completly.
I scan everything I download with Trend Micro, and keep it well updated. Am I safe to download stuff on the web, ie will the scans "pick up" the viruses and spyware in the executable files/dll files?
Hi there..
If I have said NO then don't shock. Because I myself realized that Trend Micro is not foolproof against latest viruses like Brontok and Sality. You are not safe coz I found a lot viruses and worms in Trend Micro installed computer. I'm not here for marketing purpose. You can read all posts at my website too. I have suggested AVG antivirus to you.

Mostly, but remember that your AV is about two weeks behind. A Zero-day virus will pass your AV.
Simply put, "NO".
....you need a more thorough security program than that.
I am using Trend Micro Office Client as well.As far as Scanning is concerned it is very good. But the Updating sequence is Pathetic.I mean by saying that I am unable to get connected to the Trendmicro server even after hitting the 'update' buttons repeatedly. The Trend Micro Office Client is provided by our service provider for free. And since I cannot uninstall it, I have to keep it.At the moment I am three pattern files behind.
So to counter that, I am using 'Avast 4.7 home edition' to counter this situation.I've been using this antivirus for over two and half years with excellent results. At the moment there are no conflicts between both them. They seem to compliment each other very well.......
I'm considering rhapsody blue, and I don't really want limewire--I hear it's pretty bad right now, and I don't want to take the chance of viruses. I have Macafee firewalls on my computer, not sure exactly how good they are.
You go to ares.com then it is going to say "Download Ares Free!" so you click there and you can download any songs. If it doesn't work e-mail me at tenorioluis@yahoo.com.
i'm not on my computer right now im on my room mates becuase on my computer it wont even let me pull up the internet because a whole bunch of stuff pops up/ do you guys know any free programs that can get rid of viruses or do i need to call in a proffesional or something? pleeeease help, i dont want to reboot and you know clean my harddrive because i have some important stuff saved on here pleease help. tell me what to do a lot of studd just showed up on my desktop too, i dont know what to do. if you have any questions ask and i'll put the answers to them in the additional details. please help me out here!!!!! thanks.
www.adaware.com great free program, save it to a disk from your friend's comp then put it on yours and do a full scan.
Alright,
if you are on a budget,
download Spybot search and destory, AVG anti-virus, and Ad-aware SE Personal.

If you have spending money,
Are they all the same and if so why different names, or do they all have specific goals.
Viruses are obviously the worst, but what is next and so forth?
all the same idea, but do different things.
spyware spies on you. records the websites you visit. what you looked at on a site. could record passwords.
adware sends you advertisements. pop up ads, etc.
malware is when you think it is software to do something, but it is MALicious. it is designed to look like something else. free software with something hidden in it.
and a virus is called a virus because it acts like a human virus. spreads on contact and replicates.
they need different names because they act differently, and must be defended against differently.
i use a virus scan(AVG), adware scan (AD- Aware)spyscan (spybot) and a software firewall(zonealarm). none catches all of them.
well u can find very valuable information regarding virus and its history on wikipedia.org
check this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_vi...
Just what i mean. If it is a site like photobucket then i would like that better but i keep getting viruses from regular hentai sites.
Again, just too easy....
You always here that macs do not get spyware or viruses. Is it true that macs are not subject to either of these things?
Very seldom do Mac's get viruses and/or spyware. The reason is that 90% of the world's computers use Windows, so practically 100% of the junk is written for windows.
No, macs can get viruses or spyware but the reason why they dont is because not many people are using it. The only reason why Windows gets a lot of viruses and spyware is because many people use it
This is totally untrue, although they do get less due to there being more security holes in windows and windows is used more.
Not necessarily. Windows operating system PC's receive more viruses/spyware as the OS is more common. Mac and Linux boxes are not as common, therefore not too many people create viruses or spyware based on them.
If a company wants to get the most bang for the buck they will write spyware/virus for the Windows OS/Internet Explorer. It has a wider user base for home and business PC's than Apple. Exploits and hacks are listed more often as well for the Windows OS, meaning more code is flowing freely.
